Translating Traces

[en] The approach of the project is based on the print/trace as a mean of preserving the identity and the characteristic features of the old city. Therefore, by incorporating the traces of the past into the design of the new public spaces, the identity remains recognizable in time, even when the physical features lack [the case of the collapsed buildings].

[ro] Conceptul proiectului se bazeaza pe ideea de amprenta/urma ca mod de pastrare a identitatii si a trasaturilor caracteristice ale orasului vechi. Astfel, prin incorporarea urmelor trecutului in arhitectura noilor spatii publice, identitatea va ramane identificabila si pastrata de-a lungul timpului, chiar si atunci cand caracteristicile vechiului au disparut si nu mai sunt vizibile [cazul cladirilor prabusite].
