We tried to hide away a space that was lacking personality, located on the ground floor of a block of flats, through folding a white sheet over it that leaves space behind it for containing black glossy furniture.
The intervention on the facade can be described by three major stages: detaching the outer brick layer on the ground level, identifying the rhythm and the original character of the facade of the ground level and restoring the elements in the original spirit of the building.
The space serves as a showroom exhibiting professional coffee and espresso machines.
Transforming and cleansing an apartment within a historical building, that was crammed by different strata of interventions that didn’t fit within the spirit of the place.
The main design theme required a representation space that offers the possibility for exposing a large quantity of merchandise. The transparent glass shelves are pushing the merchandise towards the main façade of the store, creating a “wall”, while the black glossy Plexiglas panels reflect the images of objects and people.
