The project aims the requalification of an urban area and of some free spaces from the social housing complex comprised in the area Tiburtino III in Rome.
The territorial development schemes follow a minimum impact rule of intervention within the natural features of the site, and use reversibility and ecology principles.
We tried to hide away a space that was lacking personality, located on the ground floor of a block of flats, through folding a white sheet over it that leaves space behind it for containing black glossy furniture.
The spatial solution for housing this complex relational network was to provide a large empty living space, the agora, which is both interior and exterior, consisting of common student spaces, interior courts and roof terraces, which becomes the guideline for organizing the entire building.
The rule in building the new is dictated by the missing pieces of the existing urban tissue, by duplicating the existing pattern of what is and was build, of build and empty, and translating it into the new build elements.
